Daily Edition Video Review

Video review of Daily Edition features

We searched hard to give you a good review of the Sony eReader Daily Edition and finally found one. The video does a great job of breaking down the new additions with the Daily Edition, especially its embrace of magazines and newspapers. The woman doing this review is very thorough, so I highly recommend you watch the video and take notes.

Similar in presentation to the Kindle DX, the readers and users of the two devices seem to have clashing opinions on the devices. While they prefer the image quality and screen size of the Kindle DX, the readers preferred the Sony eReader's use of the touch screen and fast response time. Another praise for the Sony Reader Daily Edition is that it seems to give a more realistic feel when viewing periodicals compared to the Kindle DX.

During the video, you can see the way you're able to navigate between periodicals, as well as how you can quickly access your notes. The device also offers a quickly accessed dictionary and notes section, allowing the device to function more like a PDA than as a simple reading device.

The review also breaks down the various hardware designs offered on the device, and the reasons for these choices. It does much better than I could in words, so watch the video to see their descriptions.

Another feature that this video highlights that often seems overlooked is the Sony eReader's use of open book formats. As a result, using downloadable software, you can convert word documents to an ebook format, allowing you to read any documents you might be working on in your private time on your device. Overall, a great video that breaks down the features of the Sony Reader Daily Edition. If you are on the fence about the device, this video will help you make the decision.
